Karen McDaniel, DNP, GCNS-BC, PHN

ADN/BSN PROFESSOR

Karen McDaniel DNP, GCNS-BC, PHN is a professor for the ADN and BSN programs for United Nursing College in Murrieta, CA. Karen has over 26 years of experience as a registered nurse and has worked in academia for over 14 years. She is a board certified geriatric clinical nurse specialist (GCNS-BC) and is passionate about all aspects of nursing education.

Dr. McDaniel's education includes earning her associate degree in nursing (ADN) in 1997, a bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) in 2005, a masters in nursing (MSN) in 2008 along with a specialty track as a geriatric clinical nurse specialist-board certification (GCNS-BC), a post-master’s certificate in nursing education in 2014, and a doctorate in nursing practice in 2022. Dr. McDaniel has experience working in multiple areas of nursing including Intermediate Care Unit (IMC), Telemetry, Medical-Surgical, Oncology, Orthopedics, Acute Care for the Elderly (ACE) unit, Urgent Care, Family and Internal Medicine, Allergy, Obstetrics and Gynecology, and as a Care Manager for multiple chronic conditions. She is excited to share her passion for education, leadership, and nursing with United Nursing College.
