LVN to RN Pathway
LVN to RN Pathway
The LVN to RN pathway is designed and built specifically for the LVN who wants to transition to their ADN degree. This pathway consists of two semesters of didactic, laboratory, and clinical instruction.
Pathway Overview
The LVN to RN pathway is designed for licensed vocational nurses (LVNs) who wish to advance their nursing career by obtaining an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN). This pathway provides LVNs with the necessary knowledge, skills, and clinical experiences to become registered nurses (RNs).
The pathway builds upon the foundational nursing knowledge and skills that LVNs have acquired in their previous education and work experience. The curriculum includes classroom instruction, skills practice in the laboratory, and hands-on clinical experiences in various healthcare settings, such as hospitals, clinics, and long-term care facilities. Course content includes behavioral health, geriatrics, and intermediate and advanced medical-surgical concepts. Students develop clinical reasoning skills, clinical judgment, and the ability to provide safe and effective nursing care to diverse patient populations.
Upon successful completion of the LVN to RN pathway, graduates are eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) to become licensed as registered nurses.
